TheIndonesia.id - The drainage flow in the Bukit Tiara residential area, Pasir Jaya Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, Banten is suspected to have been contaminated with industrial waste for years. Residents have reported this problem to the local authorities but no sufficient response so far.

According to several residents of Bukit Tiara Housing, Pasir Jaya Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang, Thursday, December 16, 2021, that water pollution has been happening for a long time.

"We have reported about this pollution and we have also tried to trace the river upstream but could not find the source (of pollution)," said a resident who asked not to be identified to Antara news agency.

This pollution is causing odor pollution. While the river flow is still used to irrigate local agricultural land, it also contaminated the rice plants owned by residents.

"Sometimes there is a smell and sometimes it doesn't, only the color changes. But conditions like that are still used for rice fields," he said.

The pollution was not only experienced by residents of Bukit Tiara Housing, Pasir Jaya Village. It also flows through several villages in Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency.

Residents hope the local government, in particular the Tangerang Regency Environmental Service, immediately finds a solution and resolves this industrial waste pollution. "Because this has already harmed the community," he said.
