Human skull found in Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara

TheIndonesia.id - Residents in Habi Village, Kangae District, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara province, were shocked by the discovery of a human skull, Thursday, March 3, 2022.

The skull and bones were found while excavating the foundation for the construction of Weni Rabilis' boarding house. As first published by digtara.com--a Suara.com network media, Friday, builders and residents admitted that human skeletons had often discovered in the village.

Weni Rabilis confirmed the discovery of the human skull and bones. "Yes, that's right, at that time we were digging the foundation of the house. It was suspected that it was the skull and bones of the Japanese army. We have reburied it well," he said.

The Head of Intelligence and Security at the Kewapante Police of Habi Village together with builders and residents then collected the skulls and bones and reburied them around the location of the discovery. Residents suspect the skulls found are Japanese soldiers because they had lived in the area for a long time.

The area where the skull and bones were found is a former Japanese fort. Therefore, it is suspected that the skull and bones are human skulls and bones from war era.
