Belitung tourism office confirmed that as host of the high-level event, it plans to promote tourist destinations in Bangka Belitung Islands by preparing island hopping packages for visiting state delegations.

“A site visit is already planned for delegations, and we have also prepared island hopping activity to entertain the G20 guests,” Belitung tourism office’s secretary Annyta confirmed on Tuesday, August 16, as reported by Antara.

Among the islands that will be visited during the activity are Lengkuas, Kelayang, Batu Berlayar, and Pasir Islands.

Through island hopping, Belitung plans to show the granite rock formation that has been named a UNESCO Global Geopark by the United Nations organization, and it also wants to show off the rich marine biodiversity.

The local government continues to prepare facilities that will support the island hopping activity, including sets of boats.

Local tourism industry players are also involved, and they will offer island hopping travel packages to G20 guests.

Belitung hopes to leave a lasting impression and can further improve itself as one of the top tourist destinations in Indonesia.

“After G20, we have received confirmation that Belitung will host other international conventions. Hopefully, Belitung can be the choice for international MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions],” Annyta concluded.
