Gmail also has an Archive feature, where you can archive your old email messages, making it no longer clutter up your inbox.

These email messages that you have archived will be hidden, but you will still be able to see the emails and even return them to your inbox.

To archive your e-mail is very easy, you only need to check the e-mail that you will archive, then a new menu will appear, and click the "archive" menu button as shown below.

For new users who don't know about the Gmail archive, sometimes they accidentally press the archive button and have trouble finding emails that have already been entered into the Gmail archive.

This guide will show you several ways to find your archived email messages. This tutorial is important because there's no visual way to tell if a message has been archived or not, and there's no “Archive” menu box in part of your email inbox in Gmail.

To perform an email search in this way you can use the search bar at the top of the page by typing the sender's name, email subject, or part of the body of the message.

Look through your labels. If a label is applied to archived messages, the messages will still be discoverable and sorted by that label. To browse the labels, you can look on the left side of the page.

Another way is to click "More" on the left menu and you will find the All mail menu and select "All Mail" as shown above. This will display all email messages in your Gmail account, as well as archived emails will also appear in this All Mail list. Archived messages are not indicated by a label or other indicator. Archived messages just have the “Inbox” label removed so they no longer appear in the inbox.

Open your Gmail application. Then, log in to your Gmail account.

Archived messages will still appear as search results, so if you need to know the sender, subject, body of the email, or any other part of the message, search for it by tapping the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen and you'll find your email back.

Look through your labels. If a label is applied to an archived message, it can still be found and sorted by that label. Press the Menu button in the top-left corner of the screen and scroll down to browse your labels.

Press the Menu button and press the “All mail” menu. This will show all mail in your Gmail account, regardless of label or whether they are archived or not. Archived messages are not indicated by a label or other indicator. Archived messages just have the “Inbox” label removed so they no longer appear in the inbox.

Press the Menu button in the upper right corner of the message with the “down arrow” icon so that the archived message opens. Tap “Move to Inbox” to return archived messages back to the inbox.
