TheIndonesia.id - West Jakarta Military District Command 0503 has deployed 200 personnel to guard the COVID-19 red zone and limited quarantine (micro lockdown).

"We have dispatched approximately 200 people. We are also involved in maintaining the centralized isolation areas at the Hasyim Asy'ari Mosque and Pesaki Flats, Daan Mogot," said the Military District Commander (Dandim) 0503 West Jakarta (West West Jakarta) Lieutenant Colonel Cavalry I Made Maha Yudhiksa when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, February 10, 2022.

He said hundreds of personnel were assigned to guard every entrance in the quarantine area. There they are also tasked to advise residents to apply health protocols such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

In addition, each personnel builds an emergency post. The post was used to accommodate food aid before being handed over to residents.

"The function of the Command Post is more for complaints and tracking and is useful for accommodating logistics for residents who are quarantined, for example, if there is assistance from other parties, we accommodate it there and distribute it," he said.

He ensured that the emergency personnel and post will continue to be in the red zone location until the area changed to a yellow zone status.

Police are also guarding

Deputy Chief of the West Jakarta Metro Police, Adjunct Grand Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Bismo Teguh Prakoso said, currently there are 37 locations categorized as COVID-19 red zones which had been imposed with restrictions.

"The red zone points are spread over several sub-districts including Palmerah, Kalideres, Cengkareng, and Kembangan," he said.

The number of red zone locations is expected to decrease soon because some locations will be separated from the COVID-19 red zone status.

The Kembangan Police have implemented a micro Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) or "micro lockdown" due to 15 residents being exposed to COVID-19 at the Kebon Jeruk Indah Housing (KJI) RT08/07, Srengseng Village, Kembangan District, West Jakarta.

Kebon Jeruk Police Chief, Police Commissioner Binsar Sianturi, explained that COVID cases' findings started with one of the residents tested positive for COVID-19. After that, the local health center conducted a tracing, which resulted in 15 residents being positive for COVID-19. Until now, the local public health center is still tracing the location.

Regarding security, Binsar will place several personnel to oversee the exit and entry of the area. This is done so that residents outside the red zone area do not enter during the implementation of the "micro lockdown". In addition, the officers on duty will also urge the public to apply health protocols during activities in the red zone.
