TheIndonesia.id - Indonesian Army chief of staff Dudung Abdurachman received the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Emmanuel A Canilla PA at his office in Jakarta where the two discussed possible military cooperation.

During a meeting at Army’s headquarters in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, March 15, the military figures discussed Abdurachman’s planned first visit to the Philippines after being appointed to the role in November last year.

He is also set to visit the Army Command and Staff College as well as attending Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) event in Manila on April 26-29.

On cooperation between military forces of the two countries, Abdurachman and Canilla discussed potential bilateral commitment in intelligence, training, and education. However, no concrete plan has been announced after their meeting.

The chief of staff revealed that during his time as a captain, he was sent to and was based in the Philippines for more than a year. Among some of the cities he’s quite familiar with are Zamboanga, Mindanao, Cotabato, Davao, Manila, and Palawan.

At the end of their meeting, Canilla offered Abdurachman to come and visit the Muslim community in his home country.
