TheIndonesia.id - The Indonesian government is inviting investors to invest in 47 projects with a value of more than Rp155.12 trillion (US$11 billion), and it said feasibility study has been conducted on these investment projects.

Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said during the announcement that the 47 projects are in different sectors, including tourism, economic zone, industry, and infrastructure.

“Today, we’re offering investment concepts that we’ve worked on, and we already have the feasibility study. We admit that in promoting investment opportunities, the Indonesian government tends to talk about its rich [resources], size of the islands, and population. In my opinion as a former businessman, they’re not distinct enough,” Lahadalia said on Thursday, March 17, as reported by Antara.

According to BKPM, based on their locations, nine projects are in Java, 11 projects are in Sumatra, six projects are in Kalimantan, nine projects are in Sulawesi, three projects are located in Bali and Nusa Tenggara, and the remaining nine projects are in Maluku and Papua.

Meanwhile, based on sector, manufacturing industry dominates with 15 projects worth of Rp51.92 trillion, followed by 14 projects in economic zone with a value of Rp48.24 trillion, 6 projects in infrastructure worth of Rp49.17 trillion, and lastly, tourism-related projects that are worth of Rp5.78 trillion.

Lahadalia ensured that matters related to business permits and incentives shall not concern future investors as he said the Indonesian government “will take care” of them.

Investors, he added, only needs to bring the capital, technology, and part of the market.

“I assure you that Indonesia is in a strategic position as country with largest population in Southeast Asia, and our middle class income is improving,” Lahadalia concluded.
