TheIndonesia.id - Indonesia’s first shopping center Sarinah building is reopening its doors to visitors on Monday after going through renovation since 2020.

The building, located on Jalan MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta, underwent major renovation that started in July 2020, and it officially reopens today.

As reported by Antara, a number of stores on the ground floor have opened, including Sarinah Department store and several restaurants.

There’s also photo exhibition that tells the history of Sarinah, since it first opened until present day.

Sarinah Department Store is also on the first floor, as well as bakery shop, restaurants, and coffee shops. Similar to the ground floor, a few of stores on this floor also haven’t started operating.

On the second floor, visitors will find salons and spas, as well as some other restaurants that serve Indonesian, Japanese, or European cuisines.

The third floor still has Sarinah store that offers various products, from furniture, souvenirs, to accessories.

The fourth floor, however, is still closed, and it isn’t clear what stores will be located there.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir said in December that the objective of the renovation is to build Sarinah as a “local brand” that can contribute to the growth of people’s economy.
