TheIndonesia.id - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Ibu Iriana went to Moscow, Russia, to meet President Vladimir Putin at Kremlin on the fifth day of his working visit abroad. Jokowi left for Kremlin from Rzeszow-Jasionka International Airport, Poland.

Based on an official statement received by Antara in Jakarta, President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana arrived at Przemysl Glowny Station in Przemysl City, Poland, from Kyiv, Ukraine, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 06.30 local time. From the station, the President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage went straight to Rzeszow-Jasionka International Airport, Poland, and headed to Vnukovo II Airport in Moscow, Russia by using the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft at around 09.00 local time.

In the afternoon, the President is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. Also accompanying President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana on the flight to Moscow were Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi's visit to Russia carried a peace mission as was the case with his visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Maryinsky Palace, Kyiv. In a meeting with President Zelenskyy, Jokowi said that his visit to Ukraine was a manifestation of the Indonesian people's concern for Ukraine.

To Zelenskyy, Jokowi also emphasized Indonesia's position to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity. Although difficult to achieve, Jokowi also conveyed the importance of peacefully resolving the problems between Ukraine and Russia, and conveyed that the spirit of peace must not fade. Jokowi also offered to carry a message from Zelenskyy to Vladimir Putin.
