TheIndonesia.id - Agricultural technology startup (agritech) from Indonesia, Greens, collaborates with a technology company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) E-Tech Holding Company to explore cooperation with investors from the UAE and support food security for the two countries.

"The issue of food security is the basis for Greens' efforts to help produce food sources independently for the population and can guarantee the future sustainability of the country's food security," said Director & Co-Founder of Greens Geraldi Tjoa in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Greens is committed to creating innovations in the field of agricultural technology such as meta farming or virtual farming that can be followed by everyone and enable everyone to enjoy their own harvest even if they live in a big city. Greens creates agricultural technology innovations in the form of a pod (Greens pod) that utilizes indoor cultivation systems, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) to create decentralized food sources such as vegetables and fruits.

Greens pods can regulate air temperature, humidity, and light regulation to plan long-term food source planting so that the harvest is predictable, more consistent, and has a very high nutritional content. Due to their portable and modular shape, Greens pods are easy to place in various locations so that they can produce crops that can be directly harvested, processed, and consumed at the same place (hyperlocal food).

Greens, which has been in business since 2019, focuses on creating a hyperlocal food source network in the form of Greens outlets in every environment through its Greens pod platform to provide highly nutritious food sources directly to local consumers. Greens consumers will begin to get the experience of enjoying hyperlocal cuisine (hyperlocal gastronomy) at the Greens Outlet which will be coming to Jakarta in October.

To spread this hyperlocal food source network, Greens also plans to add outlets to various cities in Indonesia and also to the United Arab Emirates in the near future.
