Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, speaks with a foreigner that has just passed the immigration checkpoint in Ngurah Rai Airport

TheIndonesia.id - Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, directly checked the current situation of Immigration at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali, related to the news that the queue of foreign travelers was up to five hours. He asks the Immigration Office to increase check-in counters.

"The Immigration Counters that were complained about yesterday, today 16 counters have been opened, including three that will be prepared for the G20 delegation," said the Deputy Governor of Bali in a written statement in Badung, Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The Deputy Governor, who is usually called Cok Ace, added that besides that there were still three counters that were still under repair. The chairman of the Bali Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association also suggested the improvement process so that the completion could be accelerated, considering that the number of foreign tourists visiting every day showed an increasing trend.

"Indeed, passenger goods seem to take a long time to process, between 30 minutes to 1 hour. But I have requested and hoped that the process of waiting for passenger goods could be accelerated. This is not anyone's fault, but the mechanism is like that," he said.

However, Cok Ace asked Airport Immigration to add special seats for the disabled and the elderly in the baggage claim queue area. This is important to do to provide adequate service to airport service users.

On that occasion, Deputy Governor Cok Ace had time to talk with tourists who had just arrived from France. The tourist said that there were no complaints during the arrival process to baggage collection.

The Deputy Governor of Bali was accompanied by the Head of the Class I Immigration Office of Immigration Check Point Ngurah Rai, Sugito, Airport Screening Security Angkasa Pura I, Kiki Aprinia, and Airport Operation Center Head Nyoman Dharmajaya. Also present officials from the Airport Authority, Flight Operation Inspector Yohanes Aris Nalendro and Air Transport, Airworthiness, and Aircraft Operation Data Processor Julian Sulistyo.
