“Asphalt paving process has been done on the 2.4-kilometer circuit. The next step will be to plant grass along the track,” Patria said on Monday, March 21, as reported by Antara.

Developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), owned by Jakarta provincial government, said the completion target for the project is end of March or early April, and it’s optimistic to meet the target,

Patria said in order to speed up the construction, contractor is deploying more than 400 workers that work night and day.

Previously, the person in charge for the Formula E circuit construction Ari Wibowo said the completion is expected to not exceed the agreed working contract, which is 54 days, with Rp60 billion (US$4.28 million) budget.

The Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) is 2.4 kilometer long and 12 meter wide. It will have 18 turns, with the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as its main view.

JIS is also currently under construction, and it’s also estimated to be fully completed by early April.

“The approval from the two organizations was given this morning to appoint Ancol as circuit for Formula E in Jakarta,” Sahroni told the press on December 22.

Prior to the official announcement, at least four other locations were considered as candidates to host the event: JIExpo Kemayoran, Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), and Pantai Indah Kapuk.
