TheIndonesia.co - Indonesia's Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated that Indonesia calls for the realization of a two-state solution in accordance with international parameters that have been agreed to end the conflict in Gaza, Palestine.
"We still have work to do, namely the peace process to achieve a two-state solution based on agreed international parameters," Marsudi remarked in a meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara on Monday.
The minister emphasized that the two-state solution being persistently pushed by Indonesia to end the conflict in Gaza must be based on agreed international parameters and ratified by several resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly that should be implemented.
Marsudi noted that realizing a two-state solution was a long-term challenge that should be pursued to stop the root causes of the conflict in Gaza.

"Right now, we are trying to address the short-term problems, such as humanitarian issues, humanitarian assistance, and ceasefire. However, the root of the problem is long-term, namely realizing the peace talk to achieve a two-state solution," she stated.
Moreover, the minister remarked that Indonesia is also encouraging the immediate addressal of the issue of humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
"The issue of humanitarian aid is a short-term problem that we must address for the sake of many people's lives. We must treat wounded civilians and save babies born prematurely. Hence, we put humanitarian issues first," she stated.
Earlier, during a joint working meeting with Commission I of DPR RI, the minister presented four topics regarding the situation in Gaza and the efforts made by Indonesia.
"I will convey four big things. The first is the current situation in Gaza. The second is protection for Indonesian citizens.
The third is the provision of humanitarian assistance by Indonesia, and the fourth is Indonesia's political support and diplomatic efforts," she remarked.
