TheIndonesia.id - Indonesia's Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police arrested members of the terrorist group Jamaah Ansharud Daulah (JAD) who planned an attack at the Kampar Police, Riau. He was arrested while hiding in a room at the Kampar Police Station.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the Public Relations Division of Indonesia's Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said the perpetrator with the initials EP who was named a suspect was a member of JAD Padang, West Sumatra.

"EP has made preparations for amaliyah (an act of terror) to the police station, but Densus 88 officers managed to thwart it," Ramadhan said in an instant message received in Jakarta, Sunday, February 13, 2022.

He explained that EP was arrested on Tuesday (February 8), at 23.48 WIB, at the Kampar Sector Police Headquarters. "Arrested while hiding in an empty room in the Kampar Police Sector building at night," said Ramadhan.

Two Arrested in Bantul

The arrests of JAD members also occurred in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested two terrorist suspects with the initials RAU and SU.

Both have pledged allegiance to the leader of a terrorist group. RAU pledged allegiance to the Amir of Daulah Islamiyah Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi in 2014 and pledged allegiance to the Amir of Daulah Islamiyah Al Hasyim in 2019.

Then, SU pledged allegiance to the Amir of Daulah Islamiyah Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi in 2016 and pledged allegiance to ISIS Abu Ibrahim Al Hashimi Al Quraisi in 2019. Suspect SU is known to have planned an amaliyah action by attacking the police station.
