TheIndonesia.id - Sending an email to the wrong recipient is the worst nightmare. If you come across this article to unsend your email, you are out of luck. You can unsend an email in Gmail, but only for a short period after you send them. So, here is how to unsend an email in Gmail.

Google has a feature to undo emails that have been sent on the Gmail service. Shortly after sending, the email can still be canceled if it turns out that you accidentally or mistakenly pressed the send button, sent it to the wrong recipient address, didn't attach a file, and so on.

With the Undo Send feature, you can return emails and make them fail to be sent or not appear in the recipient's inbox and return to a draft in the sender's email.

You can set how long the time lag is given by Gmail so that emails can be canceled when they have been sent. The time lag given varies from 5 to 30 seconds as quoted from the Google page.

How to undo sent email in Gmail

  1. After pressing the "Send" button on a message, click the "Undo" menu that appears in the lower-left corner of the screen
  2. As soon as the button is pressed, the e-mail will go to the "draft" section
  3. In the "draft" section of the e-mail, check again for the mistakes you have made and then correct them
  4. If you have corrected the error, send the email again

Cancel sent e-mail with the Gmail Undo Send feature

The existence of this feature makes it easy for users to restore e-mails that were accidentally sent to a draft.

  1. To activate it, first sign in to your Gmail account, then point the cursor to the Settings button on the gear-shaped icon, to be precise, below your Gmail profile photo.
  2. Select "settings", then "general"
  3. Find and tick the "enable undo send" option

  1. Click Settings
  2. Enter the "General" section then find "Undo Send"
  3. There you will find pause duration options ranging from 5, 10, 20, to 30 seconds.
  4. Select one of the options as desired, then click "Save Changes"
  5. After that, save the changes that have been made to the e-mail settings by clicking the "save changes" button which is at the very bottom of the screen.

After you make this setting, the cancellation or recall of emails that have been sent (undo email) will be carried out according to the selected time interval.
