TheIndonesia.id - Poor diet, not exercising, and stress can invite illness to come to your body. Apart from improving your lifestyle, detoxing your organs is also important.

Quoting the Daily Health Post, here are 7 important organs that affect your health condition, and how to detoxify them.

1. Liver

The liver functions to detoxify the blood and remove alcohol and drugs. The liver is also a storehouse of vitamins and iron and regulates cholesterol, hormones, and energy.

Excessive consumption of fatty foods, or prolonged use of medications, can overwhelm this organ. This means the blood cannot be filtered efficiently.

To cleanse the liver, avoid high sugar, high fat and alcohol. Increase consumption of healthy foods such as ginger, red cumin, cayenne pepper, lemon, tomatoes, garlic, turmeric, green tea, and vegetables. You can detoxify your liver within 3 days with this diet.

2. Blood

Blood is one of the most important things in the body that function to transport oxygen and nutrients. Factors such as age and a poor diet can make arteries less flexible and full of plaque, putting pressure on the heart and limiting blood circulation.

Dehydration also makes the blood thicker and more difficult to flow through the body. Some drugs can also cause blood clots, which block arteries and lead to heart attacks, strokes, and even death.

When the liver and kidneys are not functioning properly, the blood begins to fill with toxins, and these are circulated to the major organs of the body.

That's why it's important to eat antioxidant-rich foods like blueberries, dark leafy greens, beets, lemons, and garlic.

3. Pancreas

The pancreas is the organ responsible for producing and releasing insulin, a hormone that regulates glucose metabolism.

When fat clogs up the pancreas, it can no longer produce enough insulin to regulate blood sugar. This is one of the main causes of diabetes.

Inflammation can also hinder the ability of the pancreas to function properly, so try to include more anti-inflammatory foods like pineapple, lemon, and turmeric in your daily diet.

4. Intestines

Many foods pass through the intestines each day, most of which may be unhealthy. It is believed that some foods stick in the intestines or cause mucus buildup. Both can cause inflammation and a buildup of toxins that enter the bloodstream.

This condition can cause you to lack energy, fatigue, have headaches, and gain weight. Constipation, a condition in which stool is retained in the intestines, can also have deleterious effects on the nervous system.

Many alternative health practitioners recommend colon cleansing to detoxify your body, although this process can cause stomach cramps, stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

Instead, you should drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber, probiotics, and magnesium to avoid constipation.

It's a good idea to drink a tea made of one tablespoon of ginger and one teaspoon of chili and fennel tea every morning to fight inflammation, oxidative stress, ulcers, flatulence, and gastritis.

5. Kidneys

The kidneys remove waste products and help balance the body's minerals, regulate hydration, and produce hormones. Like the liver, this organ also functions to filter blood.

Potassium-rich fruits and vegetables, such as grapes, limes, oranges, cantaloupe, bananas, kiwis, apricots, and prunes, can help cleanse the kidneys.

Cranberries, which are commonly used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, contain a nutrient called quinine which is converted to hippuric acid. It clears excess build-up of urea and uric acid in the kidneys to prevent kidney stones.

While you are going through the detoxification process, make sure you also take the time to detoxify your mind. Stress, anxiety, and negative emotions can all lead to hormonal imbalances, chronic inflammation, and overproduction of free radicals.
