Pamungkas is the Most Listened Indonesian Musician on Spotify

TheIndonesia.id - Spotify announced a list of the top artists, songs, and albums listened to through Spotify Wrapped. Quoted from Antara based on Spotify's statement on Thursday, December 2, 2021, for the second year in a row, Pamungkas has been named the most-listened Indonesian artist on Spotify in Indonesia this year.

His famous song "To The Bone" broke a record on Spotify earlier this year as the longest local song at number 1 on the Indonesia Top 50 chart. The song is also the most-listened song in Indonesia in 2021.

"I do music independently, and I only have limited resources to introduce my music. Surprisingly, my music can still be found, loved, and listened to by so many people in various countries," said Pamungkas.

"2021 Gives me an unforgettable and humbling experience. Honestly, I couldn't believe it," he added.

Besides Pamungkas, the Indonesian artists who were listened to the most on Spotify were Tulus, Nadin Amizah, Rizky Febian, and Ardhito Pramono.

Meanwhile, the second most-listened-to song in Indonesia was "Blue Jeans" by GANGGA, a Spotify RADAR Artist. Then, it was followed by "Bertaut" by Nadin Amizah from her debut album titled "Happy Birthday."

The top five of the most listened to Indonesian songs after "To The Bone," "Blue Jeans," and "Bertaut" are "Lantas" by Juicy Luicy and "Melukis Senja" by Budi Doremi. Each song has been listened to more than 40 million times on Spotify.

"This year became an opportunity for the listeners to find new artists to accompany their days," said Spotify Asia Head of Music, Kossy Ng.

The top five most listened to artists in the world are Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, BTS, Drake, and Justin Bieber.

This year, Spotify also launched original and exclusive content with talented Indonesian podcasters, such as Nadhifa Aliya Tsana and PODKESMAS.

The Rintik Sendu podcast by Nadhifa Allya Tsana is the most popular podcast on Spotify Indonesia this year. Rintik Sendu became the first solo-hosted female podcast to reach the top spot for two consecutive years.

Following Rintik Sendu, the top 5 podcasts in Indonesia are PODKESMAS, Podcast Hanan Attaki, DESTAnya Siapa?, and Do You See What I See.
