TheIndonesia.id - One of the common problems encountered by Apple users (iPad, iPhone, or Macbook) is AirDrop which can't receive data. So, why can't AirDrop receive data on an iPhone, Macbook, or iPad?

AirDrop is a special file-sharing feature for Apple devices only, for example from iPhone to Macbook, iPhone to iPad, iPad to Macbook, and vice versa.

AirDrop that is not working can be caused by the WiFi and Bluetooth connections being disabled. Please note, sharing data via AirDrop can basically work when WiFi and Bluetooth connections are active.

In addition, the cause of AirDrop not being able to receive data can also be due to an error in its visibility setting. When AirDrop visibility is disabled, a user will not be detected on another user's Apple device.

As a result, users will not be able to receive data sent via AirDrop. For that reason, then how do you deal with AirDrop not being able to receive data?

For more details, here's how to deal with AirDrop not being able to receive data.

How to fix AirDrop that can't receive data

1. Make sure WiFi and Bluetooth connections are active

On iPhone and iPad. Please open the quick settings menu or Control Center by swiping the top edge of the screen down. After Control Center opens, make sure the WiFi and Bluetooth icons are active or on.

On a Macbook, please see the Bluetooth and WiFi icons which are usually on the top bar of the “home” screen. When it appears, it means that the Bluetooth and WiFi connections on the Macbook are active.

2. Keep Apple devices close when sharing data via AirDrop

When starting to share data, make sure the two Apple devices are in close proximity. Apple device WiFi and Bluetooth connections can ideally operate up to a maximum distance of 10 meters without any obstructions.

3. Enable AirDrop visibility

On iPhone and iPad, please open the “AirDrop” option in the “General” menu in the device settings. Set AirDrop to receive data from saved contacts only or all Apple device users.

On a Macbook, please open the Finder application and select the "AirDrop" menu. In the "Allow me to discover by" option, please set AirDrop so that it can only receive data from saved contacts or all Apple device users.
